If you're between the ages of 15 and 69, the PAR-Q will determine if you should see a doctor before you start. If you're over 69 years of age, and not very active, please check with your doctor before starting any physical activity.
The PAR-Q form provides adequate screening for the majority of people who are starting an exercise program. However, some individuals may require a medical evaluation and specific advice (exercise prescription) due to one or more positive responses to the PAR-Q. In that case, the PARmed-X, a physical activity-specific checklist, is given to the client's physician to fill out.
